LOCAL ARTIST STUDIO RESIDENCY

The Local Artist Studio Residency (LASR) is awarded to a local DC artists with direct ties to our community. Many local artists who apply to our annual open call for residency applications do not need the living accommodations that come with our In-House Residency; they need dedicated studio space and support. With that in mind, in 2025, we piloted the LASR program awarded to one artist. In 2026 two artists were awarded eight months of studio space in our newly renovated former garage nestled in our neighborhood garden, a stipend, staff and curatorial support, and professional development opportunities. Their residencies will culminate in a solo exhibition in our galleries.
